Catholic Mission Statement

The mission of St Patrick’s Catholic School “Christ be within us as we learn, grow and shine” speaks to all members of the school community.

As St Patrick brought Christianity to the people of Ireland so the Governors and staff wish to follow in his footsteps in providing a Christ-centred learning community for the children of South Leamington.

St Patrick’s School is proud of the diversity of its community bound together by our Catholic values and the values of the country in which we live.

At St Patrick’s, our children understand and live out our mission: “Christ be within us as we learn, grow and shine.” They can talk about how this guides their actions at school and at home. Our pupils are happy here because they know they are valued, loved, and cared for by every member of staff.

The principles of Catholic social teaching are woven throughout our curriculum, helping children to grow in faith and character. We celebrate each child as unique and special, created in the image and likeness of God. This helps them to see the dignity in others, showing respect, kindness, and love to everyone. Our pupils are known for being polite, welcoming, and compassionate — living examples of the values at the heart of our school.

Our Mission in Action

There are many ways our students put our mission into action.

Our children are “proud of their ‘intergenerational project’ based on mutual learning, dialogue, and friendship in local sheltered accommodation between older and younger people. ” (CSI, 2024)

Our pupils are proactive in finding ways to care for our common home and participate in activities such as litter picks, installing bins to collect reusable items and recyclables, and setting up bee hotels. Our children engage in charity work such as raising money for the Good Shepherd Appeal and for CAFOD. We host Stay and Pray sessions for parents and are part of the ‘One World Link’ programme which links Leamington schools with Schools in Sierra Leone
